Meet the Monkee

Here he is - my first monkee! He knitted up quite quickly but seemed to take ages to put together and stuff!

I had thought his name was Malky, but he and DS took an immediate fancy to each other, and after a short discussion, DS announced that his name is Zero-X1.

After reaching this understanding, Zero-X1 was quickly put to work as a contortionist's assistant.

After that he made himself at home getting to know the other residents of our house.

He seems to fit in very nicely.

Did someone say shopping?

The monkee bag came last week courtesy of Monkee Maker's shop. It arrived all parcelled up like an early Christmas present!

Thanks Monkee Maker! More monkees are planned but I think I'd like to work out how to make the half pint variety first. So it might take a little while to work out the pattern amendments first! And I want to knit a gnome too, and there's my stitching, and it's nearly Christmas .......

What a sweet and funny post!!!
Your monkey had definitely made the rounds :) You better start hiding the Jameson, though cause I hear the bear has a drinking problem :)

Zero-X1 is adorable! Seeing the pictures, I'm wondering if he took a nip of the Jameson's when he was next to the bottle.

Fab monkee.

I especially like his t-shirt (as another scot living in england I fully appreciate it.)

I've heard about those monkees and drink (I have HP11 from monkee maker) - watch your jamesons.

Hello Zero-X1 ..... catchy name ;)

He's a handsome lad, isn't he, especially in his kilt .... obvioulsy I'm too much of a lady to ask the obvious question regarding monkees and their kilts ....

Well done on your first primate, but watch out, they are addictive .... and I too find the sewing bit takes ages, and is my least favourite part.

I hope your son has lots of fun with him :)

ps. I'm glad the bag arrived safely, and what a perfect size for monkee shopping!!

I found your blog and glad that I did what great stitching!! Where did your monkey pattern come from? I have a friend that knits and I that I had to have a monkey. That is the best thing I have seen and I would pay to have a monkey. Super job!!!

Oh, Lesley, Monkeyboy is so fabulous!! (I'd be careful with the boose, though) What a darling name: Zero X1!! LOL only a boy could think of it. For some reason, Zero just doesn't look like kilt material to me, though. Is there a Zero X2 coming?
